Yesterday i learned about how CDs and hard drives work. A CD is a form of optical storage so it uses a laser to detect tiny bumps on the surface of the CD. This takes us back to binary, which is all a computer knows. Binary is 0 or 1. Something is there or not, no in between. So on a CD if there is a bump the laser counts it as 1. Then sends the electric pulse to the processor for processing, and turning it into data that we can use. A hard drive is a form of magnetic storage, so it uses tiny magnets to read the hard drive. Today I learned about input and output devices. A computer is anything that information is put into then the computer processes the information and gives information back. The language of computers is called the Binary code. Binary code is represented in series of zeros, and ones. Anything at all can be represented in binary.

Today is the beginning of the week after we presented our projects. I hope I got no less that a Level 3-, or 72%. I think the next day we will start the computer component unit, where we will take apart computers and examine the parts in it.
